The Longhorns have did it. The Longhorns have got the Golden Hat back. They took down the number 1 team in the nation, the Oklahoma Sooners. The final was 13-30. The Sooners suffered tremendously without their star qb Landry Jones. Nate Allen got the nod but turned the ball over and could not manage the game well enough to come out of the Red River Rivalry with a win. Gilbert got on a roll early and did not let up. Also the running game did well too gaining almost 160 yds on the ground, a season high. The defense also played great containing the dangerous Oklahoma Offense only giving up a touchdown. Here is what Coach had to say after the game:
" Our team played tremendously well today. The Offense and Defense stepped up when we needed them too. although Oklahoma was without Landry Jones we kept our composure. we didnt lose focus and stayed the course. we are going to carry this momentum into our next game and hopeful keep this winning streak going."
