After a disappointing rain soaked loss in the final seconds to the Buckeyes, Coach Coogan's Hurricanes felt like they had something to prove when they stepped on to the field against Kansas St. The once lack luster offense got their groove back with Jacory Harris going 16 fro 36 fro an amazing 394 yds with 3 tds and 2 ints. The running game finally cracked a hundred yards a s well seeing Lamar Miller the stud running back finally earn the title with 123 yds on 28 attempts scoring 1 TD showcasing his speed from 11 yds out. Two recievers carried the lions share of cathes with 8 between them. Player of the game Travis Benjamin found hte end zone twice with 132 yds to his credit and the man on the other side of the feild, Aldarius Johnson came away with one TD and 134 yds.
On the defensive side of the ball Marcus Fortson was a human highight reel with 5 tackles and one and a half sacks. Highlights from the game include Aldarius Johnson's amazing 8o yard td grab and and 70 yarder from Travis Benjamin.
Coach Coogan said he was pleased with the play on both sides of the ball for the first time all season. When asked about the performance he had this to say:
"My guys looked great out there today on both sides of the ball. Just the threat of sitting Jacory lit a fire under him and it was great to see him enjoying the game again. The Game ball goes to both Benjamn and Johnson inmy opinion. Anything that was thrown their way they had a hand on. It was amazing to watch. My defense was strong again, though we were exposed with a couple deep passes, but that is nothing we can't handle. A W definitely feels good after that monsoon game against Ohio St. On to week 5!!!"
